I think it is interesting how you call Sang-Woo and asshole for taking advantage of Ali, but you accept the main character fooling the old man out of his marbles. They both cheated their friends to survive.
This episode really hit close to home. Player 1, Oh Il-nam, really reminded me of my dad. O Yeong-su really did a fantastic job with his performance as him and I did some really ugly crying during the ending of this episode, it just really hit close to home. With my dad passing away a couple years ago, this was the first time a show had a character that truly reminded me of him and it just broke me at the end of the episode. Then…..I watched the rest of the series, lol.
I think this episode is heartbreaking and yet it’s heartwarming at the same time..the game was probably intended to bring out human selfishness for better entertainment (for the spectators in the series). They were set up to win against the one they have a genuine relationship with..However, it ended up one side helping the other win, intentionally or unintentionally, ironically enough..I think that’s why the episode was given the title, gganbu..
